Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which account is for me? +

NamePlace matches sponsorship owners with buyers of municipal naming rights and sponsorships. Sellers are many times cities or towns, and sometimes more specifically, departments of parks and recreation or economic development. But NamePlace is for sponsorships of a wide range of sizes and types. Sponsorship owners may be individual businesses or event organizers, independent of local governments. Buyers are typically regional or national corporations, their advertising agencies, celebrities or individuals seeking to both market and give back to their communities by way of sponsorship.
  • What can I do with an "owner" account? +

When you create an account, you can add sponsorship or naming opportunities directly to our marketplace. What is an opportunity? Any place, program or event serving the local community. Clean up program, little league team, art installation, school, hospital, soccer team, community center, sports field, amphitheater, park bench, 4th of July parade, conference, CBD, street sign. Also naming rights for everything from auditoriums to zoo animals. We can help you present your material, think though ways advertisers can participate, and price your venue.
  • What can I do with a "buyer" account? +

Creating an account allows your brand to step into local communities in the U.S., and be present when individuals and families are enjoying life and the joy of being together. Yes, there is a transaction of value: you are buying visibility and engagement in a social setting, one of the best imaginable. But you are also providing what we call “civic equity”; that is, we believe your involvement will make things better for citizens of those communities.
  • Which municipalities are participating? +

Onboard today are cities big and small: Miami Beach, FL; Bakersfield, CA; San Jose, CA; Pearland, TX; Palo Alto, CA; Doral, FL; Asheville, NC; Dever, CO; Folsom, CA; Conroe, TX;; Auburn, WA; several cities in San Diego County, CA and more. If you have any questions about getting your city onboard, email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  • Which venues are acceptable? +

We concentrate on the long tail of unrealized sponsorship assets. Those items hard to sell or those people are having a hard time finding larger regional or national sponsor for or those newly offered up for corporate sponsorship. If you're looking to promote at Levis Stadium, there's a team for that but we specifically look to help with hyper local engagement.

  • What information is required when posting a sponsorship? +

Here's the information we require for each sponsorship: Sponsorship Title Something like "Clearlake Park Naming Rights" or "Jamboree: 3-Day Music Festival" Address or City Address is preferred but City, State is adequate. Sponsorship Type Categorize your sponsorship so that sponsors can find you, just by searching by type. The categories are Parks and Facilities, Athletics and Recreation, Special Events, and Community Programs. Description The description includes a complete detail of your opportunity: the audience demographic the sponsorship reaches in as much detail as possible, and clear definition of what the sponsor receives, specifics about signage style and location or promotional items, PR, whatever is included. Sponsorship Images 1 image is required. You can add up to 5 hi-res images of the sponsorship opportunity. This could be your logo, or event images...(for example, for park naming rights...what the park looks like, what will the signage look like. For an event, places the brand will get visibility...people in branded t-shirts from a previous event, things like that)... Duration Start time = start date of the sponsorship through End time (which sets the duration), schedule these are far ahead as you'd like. This will give sponsors time to find you. If we are coming upon your event soon, you may want to list your inventory for next year, as "2016". Or both! Total Reach Total number of people reached through the term of the sponsorship. Many organizations have these statistics online, but if you need help estimating, NamePlace can assist you in defining a fair estimate. Price We want to bring your city, program or opportunity the money it needs to support its efforts and goals. Ask for what you need. Tags Add as many tags as you can think of for your opportunity as this also raises your changes of being found by an advertiser. Your city, your categories, etc, i.e. tags = "san diego, park, playground, naming rights" or "san antonio, amphitheater, music, festival".
  • How does the payment process work? +

Buyers select venues from the marketplace. When they are ready to purchase, they pay the sponsorship amount plus a NamePlace commission and NamePlace in turn pays the sponsorship owner the amount they have requested for the sponsorship. NamePlace will distribute funds to venue owners within 30 days after receipt of payment.
  • Where does a "buyer" go for assistance? +

Buyers should contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for any help. NamePlace can assist in putting together single, multi-, and national market campaigns.
